Our Story

Ōkami Coffee + Matcha was founded by three sisters with a shared passion for bringing the flavors, traditions, and spirit of Japan to Southern Wisconsin. As a family-owned business, everything we do is rooted in connection to our heritage, our community, and the people we serve every day.

Before opening Ōkami, we spent years working as baristas, developing a deep appreciation for specialty coffee and the craft behind every cup. At the same time, we wanted to share the Japanese traditions we grew up with, especially the rich culture surrounding authentic matcha. Bringing those two passions together felt like a natural fit.

Intentionality is at the heart of everything we serve. Our premium matcha is carefully sourced from Japan, honoring generations of craftsmanship and tradition. Our coffee is selected and prepared with the same level of care, ensuring every cup reflects our commitment to exceptional quality and flavor.

We're proud to share a piece of Japan with Southern Wisconsin while creating a spot where people can gather, connect, and enjoy thoughtfully crafted drinks, one cup at a time.

Why “Ōkami”?

The name Ōkami is a tribute to our roots. Our mobile coffee and matcha cart is owned by three sisters whose family name is Wolf. With our Japanese heritage in mind, we chose Ōkami (狼), the Japanese word for wolf, as an homage to both our family name and our culture.
